Space wasn\u2019t the issue, but especially in the first year knowledge and time investment play important roles. Therefore we work together. This Aptus garden is\u00a0a collaboration between Aptus Plant Tech, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smidse.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hotel de Smidse<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.groene-start.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Groene Start<\/a>. Aptus organizes and delivers knowledge, planning and plant nutrition. Groene Start delivers all the seeds, growing knowledge and manpower. De Smidse pays the small costs and can use all the yields out of the garden. With almost 400 square meters he can make hundreds of meals with superfresh vegetables. He can use it, because between\u00a0march and september Epen welcomes a million guests from all over the world, enjoying the beautiful environment.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"New Aptus garden at Herberg de Smidse in Epen\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rG2o0WWJlK4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7050\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_5918web-300x200-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Until night frost is definitely over, we\u2019re building and filling up the wooden crates, applying <a href=\"https:\/\/aptus-holland.com\/products\/all-in-one-pellet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aptus All-in-One pellets<\/a> and planting our first crops: rhubarb, radish, lettuce and some herbs.\u00a0After seeding we&#8217;ve just watered with Believerpack, consisting of <a href=\"https:\/\/aptus-holland.com\/products\/regulator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aptus Regulator<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/aptus-holland.com\/products\/startbooster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aptus Startbooster<\/a>.\u00a0Half of the work is already done! Now it\u2019s only a matter of maintaining, which means looking after your plants and their environment. Plants are just like humans, they need attention.<br \/>\nThese pictures were taken 1 week after seeding.<\/p>\n<p>After the crates are filled, we&#8217;ll make\u00a0the open soil ready for its very first year of being a food-producing ground. The root cloth is to hold back the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7049\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_5915web-300x200-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>growing of unwanted weeds for now.\u00a0To measure and analyse the difference in quality and quantity, we divide our testing gardens into treated and untreated sections. On each side we grow the same crops. Other growing conditions remain entirely the same during the whole season. In our testing gardens we use All-in-One pellet and Believerpack to show the difference in quality and quantity between treated and untreated crops.
